Passion
EiD strives to to make the world a more understanding and empathetic place through education, love and compassion. We are passionate about what we do because it means more than just training or educating, it means the advancement and growth of possibilities for change and expanding people’s notion of identity and self.
Intersectional
By nurturing our unique and intrinsic differences and how they connect us with others. We work to create curriculum training and spaces where multiple overlapping identities can feel supported, validated and understood, including sexuality, gender, race, religion, age, culture, class and differing abilities.
Education
Education is at the forefront of our mission at EiD. We aim to increase understanding of LGBTQ issues, language, advocacy and policies. We do this by creating curriculum that is interactive, and provide a space for hands on education to take place. This promotes curiosity and learning which generates conversation, activism and action around policy, stereotyping, societal conflicts and systems of oppression.
Community
We focus on working with non-profit organizations, partnerships, businesses in order to set forth the best practices and standards for addressing the needs, issues and experiences of LGBTQ folks and their intersectionalities. We work to acquire current tools and skills that are informed by the larger queer community, and keep up to date on the most recent language and best practices of various communities intersecting identities.
Empowerment
At EiD, we address the ways policies and procedures prevent education around identity and language of LGBTQ people. By centering those who experience oppression and injustice, we can empower communities to make more informed decisions that positively impact the queer community and our society as a whole.
